7 DIY Dog-Friendly Vegetable Snacks


Harboring tons of healthy fiber, loaded with vital nutrients, and bursting with antioxidants - vegetables are nature’s superfoods. So it’s always great to incorporate them into our dog’s daily life to keep them feeling happy, healthy, and energetic from the inside out.


We’ve rounded up 7 great DIY vegetable-based dog-friendly recipes that you can easily make at home, with only a few pantry staples. Plus, we explore the top dog-friendly veggies you can use to get more of those wonderful vitamins into your dog's system.

If you’d like to just feed “the real thing” in all its glory, the following foods (in small amounts) are perfect snack options for your dog:


  • Spinach
  • Carrot
  • Kale
  • Sweet Potato
  • Green Beans
  • Broccoli
  • Beetroot
  • Celery
  • Cucumber
  • Squash
  • Zucchini


Some dogs may be able to digest these raw, but most will do better if they are pre-cooked. Be sure to cook them through with a gentle method, like steaming for example. Start with small amounts and see how your dog does.
